Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Welcome to the Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe page. Well, there's not much point in trying to describe what this page is all about, so without further ado, let's get on to the chocolate chip cookie recipe that produces delicious golden brown chocolate chip cookies just the way my mother used to make them!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

Note: The wholemeal flour can be substituted with plain flour if you are not of such a health-conscious disposition, although I have to say, using wholemeal flour in cookies gives the chocolate chip cookies in this recipe a definite edge when it comes to flavour and texture!

Method:

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F). Place the white and brown sugar, butter (pre-softened) and egg in a large bowl and mix together by hand. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt. Don't worry if the dough is fairly stiff, that's how you want it. Stir in the chocolate chips (if there are any left after you've been picking at them!).

Drop the dough using rounded tablespoonfuls about 5cm (2in) apart onto an ungreased (chocolate chip) cookie sheet.

Bake for about 10 minutes or until a golden brown. The centres will be soft, this is normal. Let the chocolate chip cookies cool for a minute then remove from the chocolate chip cookie sheet and place onto wire rack to cool off.

Then see how strong your will power is by trying not to eat one!!
